Community |
Most homes, including ours, are in a neighborhood.
Thus the design we chose, and how we presented it, had
to be senstive to the community in which it is embedded.
Our plans were initially held up for permitting because
some neighbors had the false impression that we were
planning to build an eco-conference center. After this
misunderstanding, we did our best in all subsequent
stages to clearly communicate that our goal was to create
a modest home with design features that fit within the
aesthetics and priorities of the community as a whole.
